Syrian Hamster Care Guide

Syrian hamsters are solitary, nocturnal prey animals. They need to be kept alone, not be woken throughout the day and be in a quiet part of the home away from other pets.

They can run 2-4km every night and store up to a tonne of food in their lifetime. Hamsters can dig burrows up to 30 feet deep in the wild.

Hamsters have very sensitive respiratory systems and their teeth never stop growing.

Please note: you will not be able to get all your hamster supplies from local pet shops, especially Pets at Home.
